Indian Stock Markets Closed for Gandhi Jayanti on October 2

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will be closed on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in observance of Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday honoring the birth of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a key figure in India’s independence and advocate of nonviolence.

All trading activities, including equity, equity derivatives, and securities lending and borrowing (SLB), will be suspended. The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will also close for both trading sessions on this day. Normal operations will resume on Thursday, October 3, allowing investors to return to the market after a day of reflection.
