Actor Rhea Chakraborty, comedian Bharti Singh, and YouTuber Elvish Yadav are under investigation for their involvement in the HiBox mobile app scam, which reportedly defrauded over 30,000 investors of ₹500 crore. The app promised daily returns of 1 to 5 percent but started withholding payments after June. Following over 500 complaints, police arrested main accused Sivaram from Chennai. Authorities are also probing payment platforms Easebuzz and PhonePe for non-compliance with Reserve Bank of India guidelines. Easebuzz claims to have blocked the merchant and reported suspicious transactions prior to the investigation.
